United Juntos is a Dallas movement of families, artists, and neighbors creating free, art-led events where everyone can make, belong, and thrive.
Our story
It started with a question: what if art belonged to everyone?
United Juntos didn't start as a nonprofit — it started as a community art project. In 2025, founder Alex Lozano received an $8,000 City of Dallas ArtsActivate grant as an individual artist and used it to host a free art day for families in Bachman Lake, which he named United Juntos. More than 200 neighbors came; families left with original art, library cards, and connections to immigration, dental, and health resources. The response made the next step clear — this had to be bigger and built to last. United Juntos Corporation was formed to carry that proven model forward.
Kids painted. Elders cut paper. Local artists led the tables while health and youth organizations offered real services in the same warm room — art and answers, side by side.
That's the whole idea — art and community, side by side, free and open to everyone. We're still small, still local, and still convinced this city rises when it rises together.
That's what it means to rise juntos.

The founders
Two friends, one big leap.
United Juntos was founded by Alexander Lozano and Daniel De La Peña — two friends who met as educators at José 'Joe' May Elementary in Dallas. It was there, alongside their own students and families, that they set up their very first event and saw what a neighborhood can build together.
As teachers, they saw it every day — how much creativity, pride, and talent already lived in their students and families, and how often the resources to nurture it didn't reach them. That's the spark: a love for their people, and a belief that this community deserves every chance to shine.
They still show up to set up the tables, greet families at the door, and clean up at the end. This is a hands-on, neighbor-led movement — and it's just getting started.
